AP Biology Summer Assignment

Due August 20, 2008

1. Receive summer assignment and have a textbook issued to you.

2. Read Chapters 45, 46, 47, and 48 in Starr & Taggart’s "Biology - The Unity and Diversity of Life",   11th Edition. Take accurate and complete notes from your reading. The notes can be hand-written or typed. Be sure to note all the bold type words and do not ignore captions to diagrams, charts and pictures. You will take a reading quiz on each of these chapters the first week of school. You will be able to use your notes for the quizzes.

3. You have been given an AP Biology past-exam essay question. Using your textbook and any other resources you choose, research the information asked for and answer the question. The answer should be in the form of an essay, except with no introduction, conclusion, or outline. The essay must be typed and double-spaced. You may include graphs, tables, or other graphic representations of data, as long as your essay explains the information you write about.

4. Use the following website to access the internet assignment that is part of your summer assignment. Click on the link below to access the site. From the drop-down menu, choose Chapter 46.
